Our Philosophy

At My Flight Academy, we don’t claim to be the best on the market, we recognize the merits of many existing programs… our format is just different.

This program was created by Celine Zabout, an FAA-certificated CFI and ground instructor, with one goal in mind: to serve students and pilots. That’s why we’ve tailored a unique program specifically for VFR operations, incorporating visual, audio, and reading materials to cater to everyone from sport pilots to commercial aviators. We call it the VFR Course!

The reason we don’t sell separate programs for each pilot certificate type (sport, recreational, PPL, and CPL) is that, in the sky, the level of your license doesn’t change the general rules you must follow or the risks you encounter. This foundational knowledge is crucial for all pilots; therefore, we believe that a Private Pilot should be as knowledgeable as a Commercial Pilot.

However, each certificate does vary in privileges and limitations, as well as FAA written test requirements, so we’ve got you covered. Our program includes everything you need to be fully prepared for each certificate. And to ensure you keep your knowledge fresh, your access is for life. And if you’re curious about IFR operations, we’re excited to announce that we’re actively developing that program and will launch it soon.

Now, before enrolling in any ground school or flight program, there are crucial aspects to consider to ensure the best possible learning experience—one that not only meets your needs but also matches your learning style. Let’s explore the extensive, engaging curriculum we offer, designed in a unique format that we hope you’ll love.

Streamlined and User-Friendly

Our course is straightforward and easy to navigate, designed to adapt seamlessly across all devices: phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, and TVs. It can also be installed on your phone or desktop for an app-like experience.

After logging in, you’ll land at the main menu, which displays the various topics or chapters we cover. These are arranged in a specific sequence to maximize your learning efficiency.

As you progress, each chapter gradually introduces more complex concepts while reinforcing previous lessons.

Each chapter is broken down into manageable lessons, designed to focus your attention and prevent overwhelm.

Each lesson includes a simple study checklist to complete as you go. Your progress updates automatically in your Student Console, so you always know what’s done, what’s next, and what still needs attention.

Lesson Progress Checklist

Quiz: Demo

Lesson Progress Checklist

Your Checklist. Your Pace. You stay in control by marking items complete only when you feel confident you’re truly done. If the course feels intensive at times, or if you’ve already mastered a topic, you can prioritize what matters most now and return to specific readings or resources later. We recommend completing as much as possible for the strongest retention and test readiness, but the system is built to support your pace and your training strategy.

🎮 Student Console

Your Student Console is your built-in study partner, always available from the draggable button. It gives you a clear snapshot of what you’ve completed, what’s next, and what still needs attention.

As you check off lesson tasks or finish quizzes, your console updates automatically, so you always know where you stand.

You can also keep notes, either general or lesson-specific, and if you’re connected with an instructor, you can share notes to stay aligned and get better guidance.

The Console is certificate-aware, meaning your progress is organized by certificate. If you come back later for another certificate, you can transfer key completed activities (like readings, videos, and resources) and refresh timestamps as you review, so your tracking stays meaningful and current.

Certificate of Completion Requirements

To take your FAA written knowledge test, you’ll first need a Certificate of Completion or an endorsement from an authorized instructor. To earn your Certificate of Completion with us, you’ll complete every lesson in the course, pass the chapter quizzes, and pass the Test Prep quizzes. Lesson checklist items (readings, videos, resources, and lesson quizzes) aren’t all required for completion, but we strongly recommend completing as much as possible for stronger retention, greater confidence, and higher written scores… which directly helps during your oral, too.

🏆 The MFA Trophy Challenge

Because we aim for excellence, we offer the My Flight Academy Trophy Challenge… a money-back reward for perfect performance!

Score 100% on all required quizzes and score 100% on your FAA written exam, and we’ll refund the full cost of the course.

Instructor & School Consoles

Following student progress is essential to helping them reach their goals.

With the Instructor Console and School Console, you can easily monitor training activity, review lesson completion, and stay connected…. all in one place.

You’ll quickly see where each student is in the program and provide support when it matters most.

You can track exactly when your students complete each study activity, including reading assignments, lesson videos, and resources, with clear date-and-time stamps for every action.

This makes it easy to see what’s been done, what’s left to do, and where a student may be falling behind.

You can also spot weak areas quickly by reviewing their quiz history.

The quiz log gives you a clear summary in seconds (score, number of attempts, time spent, pass/fail).

If you want to go deeper, click View Results to see which questions were answered correctly and which ones need more work.

For convenient record-keeping, you can also download a clean, easy-to-read PDF of a student’s progress… perfect for tracking and storing training records. All activity logs are also exportable in CSV format.

Student & Staff Chat

You can communicate directly with your linked students through the built-in Student Chat.

As an instructor, you can also receive shared notes from your students, making it easy to answer questions, review what they’re working on, and keep everything organized between lessons.

As a school, keep your team connected through a dedicated Staff Chat when instructors are linked to your school.

Message instructors one-on-one or start group conversations with multiple instructors. Instructors within your school can also chat individually or create group chats to collaborate and communicate efficiently.
