My Flight Academy was built around one idea: put the student at the center of every step.
I wanted to create more than an online ground school. I wanted to build a structured learning system that helps students study with purpose, track their progress and stay connected to their instructors.
Ground training should not feel separate from flying. It should prepare students to understand the “why,” apply knowledge in the airplane and become safer, more confident pilots.
Why I created
My Flight Academy
During my own training, I often had to piece things together from books, videos, online programs and scattered explanations. Later, as an instructor, I saw the same problem from the other side. Information is everywhere, but students do not always have a clear structure to follow. I also noticed a clear pattern: many were drifting away from reading and leaning almost entirely on video-only content.
Videos are an amazing tool and can be very helpful. But when they are not supplemented by other materials, students often struggle to build the structured understanding needed for FAA evaluations, oral questioning and real-world decision-making.
My perspective also comes from real-world flying experience. After earning my commercial pilot certificate, I flew professionally across the country in a Cessna 182. That background shaped the practical VFR general aviation approach I now bring into my teaching and into the way the VFR Course is built.
That path led me to create My Flight Academy, first as a structured VFR course for students and now as a broader training system for instructors and flight schools.
